Hey, guys! Kuromi's back. Today we're gonna talk about an otome game entitled My Secret Pets! by Dogenzaka Labs. It's about a young woman who just broke up with her ex and went back home just to find her pets ani-- I mean, huma... homomorph? Whatever, they turned into friggin' human beings, pretty guys to be exact! Don't worry, no animals were abused in this game, only a human girl abused by her pets.
When I saw this was on sale and now in English, I know I had to get this cause' it was made by the same company that made The Men of Yoshiwara (a real tearjerker I tell you). So I hit on that buy button and soon it was my head that hits the wall.

Let me tell you what can I summarize about My Secret Pets! with an analogy... Freshly bought ice cream fell on the floor. This game reminds me a lot of Prince of Stride otome game.
First of all, everything is NORMAL. What do I mean? Let's see, your rabbit never cooks and suddenly he's a star chef. Your pets can use technology all of a sudden. You can fall in love after breaking up less than a week ago. And the list goes on.
Also, the plot went really fast. I swear, it's one of the shortest visual novel games I ever played. The transitions between chapters were almost unnoticeable unless you opened up the log and reread the dialogues and stuffs. Plus, this story went so fast that I can't even go hnnnnnnnggg~ at any point of the game, let alone crying like in The Men of Yoshiwara.
However, all bad things had some good in them as well. The artwork is unquestionable, it pars with it's previous games from the same creators. The story IS fast but pretty much solid. Beginning, rising action, climax and ending is there, just short. Not to mention the music (BGMs) are pretty catchy. I'm still humming the secluded scenes' BGM. No, not THAT kind of secluded scenes, you perverted bastard you. Not to mention the romantic lines really can make the readers' heart went hnnnnngggg~ but not to the level of the usual hnnnnggg~ hype level. (Yeah, I used the term hnnnnggg~ a lot, whatever).
You can get this game on Steam now, but you have to be 18 of age and above first. No, there's no secluded scenes as I mentioned above, but it's to protect the norm of young kids' mentality. So go ahead and lie about your age and play this game if you're ok with short, simple otome games. I can only rate it as 2/5.
