Hello guys, and welcome to Kuromi's Nostalgia Hours. In this post, I, Kuromi, will be talking about anime shows and movies which I had watched long ago, since my childhood times. In today's show for Nostalgia Hours, I'll be talking about one of the famous Studio Ghibli's movie production, Spirited Away.
I know those who'd watched it doesn't need it but here's the short, non-spoiler summarisation of the story.
This story is about a young girl named Chihiro and her parents stumbled upon an abandoned amusement park not knowing they are entering a new fantasy world. Her parents mysteriously turned into pigs and young Chihiro tried to find a way to restore them back to normal. She then met Haku and became an attendant in a bath house owned by a witch named Yubaba.
All right, from this point on, spoilers will be everywhere like the 'stains' a female human left during her period.
Hayao Miyazaki is the man, his direction in these Ghibli movies were simply fantastic. It has unique style and the direction of the animation? Muah, magnifico. Now I ain't highballing anything here, it's simply my view. Spirited Away is one of the most mentioned one, making it an icon (second to My Neighbour Totoro).
I've finished watching it for the fifth time now since I ever watched like God knows when. It totally made me feel nostalgic, hence, the title of this post. The characters were... alive. It's completely natural. Casual, yet great. A lot of characters developed well throughout the story, even the side characters. Even the story's plot is my cup of tea. It feels like a myth legend or fable story. Give me any stories like this any day, I'll dig into it right away. The artworks are amazing and refreshing, it's one of the main reason I keep watching it.
I still ship Chihiro and Haku together to this day, they could make such a cute couple! Too bad they separated at the end and may not meet again, thinking about it made it feel really sad. But hey, Haku's a river right? So, yeah, I dunno'.
Last time I saw some videos like this one. I don't really mind the double meaning underlies this masterpiece, but I admit it is kind of unsettling. But it shows just how much reality can be portrayed in arts of works, without even people noticing.
Anyways, I've just got myself a copy of it's Bluray disc. Time for another hour of classic masterpiece in High Definition for me. You guys can share this moment too. You can get yourself a copy of the Bluray disc from here.
Anyways, thanks again for reading and stay tune for another Nostalgia Hours on the next Thursday. See you guys soon!
