There could be no more devastating news than hearing the news of a person's demise, especially if the person is a part of your life, no matter near or far. Last Tuesday on May 17, 2016, the voice actress / seiyuu Mizutani Yuuko had passed away at the age of 51 due to breast cancer. The news had been reported by Aoni Production.

Her well known roles in the industry of voice acting includes Sora Takenouchi (Digimon), Pinoko (Black Jack) and the most well known character she had voiced, Sakura Sakiko (Chibi Maruko-chan). Below are the characters in respective order:

I might not be a huge fan of Digimon, but I admit I did grew up with it and besides Agumon's and Taichi's voice, Sora's voice is one of the most memorable and when I re-watched the first series, the voice acting was amazing. As expected from a veteran, though those days might be her prime works. However, it will be left as a legacy. Not to mention, her voice can still be heard from the show Chibi Maruko-chan through Maruko's older sister, Sakiko.

All we can do now is pray for her soul.  May she rest in peace and thank her for her memorable contributions.

Thank you, Mizutani Yuuko.
